Quayside Cottage Victoria Quay Salcombe
Quayside Cottage is a Grade II listed, three storey cottage, which was constructed in the early 19th Century. From around the early 1900’s the Cook family occupied the building as a boat store / workshop.
In 1996, an architect and his wife purchased the property, as the Cook family had decided to sell, because there was no one to take over the family business.
At this stage, the boat store was in a very dilapidated state, that required extensive restoration. Consequently, the property was converted into three separate cottages, Lantern Cottage, Sailmakers Cottage and Quayside Cottage.
After the conversion, in 1996, Quayside Cottage, which is the end terrace of the three converted cottages, directly faces onto the Salcombe Estuary waterfront at Victoria and Custom House Quay, was retained as a family home.Quayside Cottage is a uniquely situated frontline waterside cottage, literally within the heart of the historic harbour town of Salcombe, at Victoria and Customs House Quay. This setting is exceptionally picturesque, in a prestigious town centre location.
With Four Double Bedrooms (all En Suite), Quayside Cottage offers an exceptional amount of spacious accommodation, with an impressive yield from holiday letting, if so required. From every window, there are panoramic scenic views of the varied harbour activity on the water, together with the surrounding countryside, from Batson Creek, Snapes Point, upwards to South Pool Creek, across to Whitestrand and across the beaches at East Portlemouth. There is also an enclosed garage, that provides vehicle access for parking a car and boat storage.
The Quay side connected to Quayside Cottage is included in the Freehold, where there is a running mooring for a 12ft dinghy, with access from the Quayside harbour wall.
